Back in the 1990s when I first moved to Boulder, Colorado, I’d frequent lectures by the great avant garde filmmaker Stan Brakhage, who taught up at CU Boulder. One time in 1998 I was able to get a one-on-one meeting with Stan to talk about some of the art work I had been doing I felt he had inspired.

At the end of our meeting he asked me to wait, as he turned and worked for about 5 minutes with his back to me. When he was done he handed me this piece of 16mm film with his initials at the end.
